David Cavanagh
David Cavanagh’s books of poems include Falling Body (2009) and The Middleman (2003), both published by Salmon Poetry of Ireland.
His poems have appeared in leading journals in Canada, Ireland, the U.S., and the U.K., and in anthologies such as The Book of Irish American Poetry from the Eighteenth Century to the Present (U. of Notre Dame Press), and Salmon: A Journey in Poetry (Salmon).
David has done dozens of popular readings in the U.S. and Canada. He has also performed poems with musicians such as the poetry-jazz group, PoJazz, and the Celtic band, Wind That Shakes the Barley.
Currently he is working on a new book of poems about the perils and possibilities involved with living on borders -- both literal borders (U.S./Canadian) and psychic ones.
A native of Montreal with dual Canadian/American citizenship, David lives in Burlington, Vermont. He works as an associate dean at Johnson State College.
